Due to the fact that the photovoltaic industry is a completely new field, silicon wafers EVA(PVB)、TPT(PVF)、 When aluminum alloy and other photovoltaic material manufacturers supply components to module manufacturers, there are no current executable standards. They often refer to the IEC series standards in the module industry and conduct comprehensive testing on the components after lamination (packaging), using electrical performance (maximum power, insulation resistance) as the basis for quality judgment.
However, the impact of light on components is multifaceted, including photo induced attenuation (SWE) of the anti reflection film on the silicon wafer surface, internal corrosion caused by decreased permeability of TPT, and reduced transmittance caused by yellowing of EVA crosslinking agent, all of which will result in a deterioration of the overall electrical performance of the components.
For materials, ASTM series standards are often referred to, and a bandwidth of 1nm is used to conduct photo aging tests on sensitive wavelengths of 340nm (carbonyl 376nm), 313nm (carbonyl 311/321nm) in EVA materials, and 340nm for C-C bonds in TPT materials.
For components, it is necessary to refer to the IEC series standards and measure 280-320nm, 280-385nm, 280-400nm, and 320-400nm separately, which is called UV pre-treatment test, to eliminate the influence of UV factors in later tests.
The inconsistency between ASTM and IEC standards, as well as the confusion of various UV testing standards in IEC, require unified instruments to achieve testing purposes, which is the value of BR-UVT. This test chamber can conduct UV aging and UV pre-treatment tests on TPT (PVF) and EVA (PVB), respectively, to compare and identify the true reasons affecting electrical performance.
